| In-Service Classes |
These classes are required after you have completed the basic
classes. The Department of Criminal Justice Services requires you to
have an In-Service class once every two years upon completion of the
original class. (This is with the exception of Firearms, which you have
to complete EVERY year.) This only applies to individuals registered
in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The in-service training can be
completed at any point within 24 months before your expiration date;
firearms recertification can be completed any point within 12 months
before your expiration date.
If you would like to attend any of the listed classes, we ask that all
students sign up in advance. You can sign up for any of the classes
by registering here. Although we will still permit you to attend the
course if you don't sign up beforehand, we cannot notify you if there is
a schedule change!
